Since Becoming a Mommy of Two

I have learned many things since becoming a mommy of two kids.

1. Your children will never take naps at the same time.
2. Your children will never go to bed at the same time.
3. If you make your toddler mad and they start crying, your infant is going to start crying too.
4. Mommy does not have enough hands to satisfy everyone's needs.
5. If your infant does not want to be put down, you still need to do it because you need a few minutes to yourself!
6. It is okay to cry for no reason.
7. It is okay not to get your household duties done every day.
8. It is okay if you forget to shower, brush your teeth, hair or even go to the bathroom for long periods of time.
9. The love I have for these two human beings is beyond a love I never even knew existed.
10. The way they are looking at each other now just makes my heart melt.
11. I needed to make more time for my children instead of trying to get stuff done around the house (and I have!).
12. Always pack things the night before if you have to leave by a certain time the next day (not just every now and then)!
13. The appreciation I have for my parents' help is beyond words. They are so helpful with these two girls and I am so glad my girls get to spend so much time with them!
14. If we have another child, the next time around we will not get a puppy one month before I am due.
15. Dinner is not going to be done by a certain time every day...shoot, we are lucky if I cook at all!
16. Finally, I am so happy to have two beautiful daughters that are healthy and happy and I love more than anything in the world!!

Maddie is now 3 months old (13 weeks as of yesterday). She has already rolled over two times and has been able to hold her head up through all her movements for a couple of days now. We just introduced formula to her this week and she is taking it, but I am glad it is just to supplement my breast milk. I love to nurse her, especially since I wasn't able to with Emma. I plan on doing that until she is around a year old. Hopefully, she will cooperate with me! She is in 3-6 months clothes and can finally fit into the cute little shoes I have for her. Her hair is staying in and her eyes have so far stayed blue. She has a deep dimple on her right cheek and one on her left cheek that isn't as deep, but you can see it. We go for her 3 months appointment today so I will see how much she weighs and how long she is-I am always so excited for that.

Emma is a big two and a half year old now. She is speaking so well. She can count to 30, knows her ABC's, colors and is familiar with a couple numbers in Spanish. She loves to watch Dora, Diego, Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, Imagination Movers, Charlie Brown cartoons, Tinker Bell, The Backyardigans, Wonder Pets, pretty much anything on Nick Jr and the future Disney Jr--yea!!--, and also any princess movies. She loves to color and sing. Her favorite songs to sing are ABC's, Twinkle Little Star, Away in A Manger, Jingle Bells, Dora theme song, Jesus Loves Me and theme songs to other kid shows. She is also saying I love (wub) you now. It just about makes me melt! She is so good with Maddie, so loving and motherly.

I came back to work this week and it has been a little easier as time went on. I had my major breakdown Sunday night and a small one on Monday morning, but other than that I have coped fairly well. I am very tired and just wish I would be able to become a stay at home mom. Maybe someday!

Have a great weekend from Emma and Maddie!

(Don't mind the dirty feet...bath time had not come yet ;))
