First Field Trip

Emma went on her first field trip on October 2.  She had a great time!  I was able to go with her and we went to a pumpkin patch.  The kids first learned about how corn works...how it is collected by the farmers, how long it takes to grow, what we use it in, etc.  Emma really liked that.  All the kids then went outside for a hayride. IT WAS COLD!!  The wind was blowing and it was spitting rain out.  The farm provided blankets for us, so it made it a little better.  There were Halloween decorations along the trail and Emma loved seeing the spooky spiders.
After the hayride, we took a trip into the barn to see the animals.  The kids got to comb the goats, look at baby pigs and a calf, see a conceited duck, pet a baby chick and see horses.  Emma had a ball.  After the animals, it was finally lunch time.  When we finished eating, we took a trip out to pick a pumpkin out of the fields.  Emma finally found one she liked.  At first, she didn't want mud on it, but then she only wanted mud on it.  She is so funny.  When she was done with that, I let her play on the playground for about a half an hour and then we left and went home to hang out the rest of the day.

Here she is on the hayride-all excited!!
She could have combed these goats all day long.
Petting the baby chick
It's blurry, but she was trying to tell the pig a secret :)
This duck DID NOT like people coming in the barn.  LOL
Time for lunch!!
Playing in the miniature house with her preschool friends.
Time to go pick out a pumpkin!
This was about five minutes after we left the farm :)
