Bed Rest Until....

Well, I am officially on bed rest. I woke up this morning not feeling quite right. I was nauseous, had a headache and just didn't feel right. I called into work. I went back to bed after Brandon and the girls left. My co-workers called later. I work at a Pediatric Hospital, so they were concerned with my symptoms. Since I had a headache, they told me to call the doctor. I did and they had me take my blood pressure at home. I did and it was little high. They told me to come in to the office to get checked out. Well, my mom comes home from work and takes me to the doctor, because no one wanted me to drive. We packed everything up (thank God I have everything ready) and headed to the hospital. When I got there, I got hooked up to the monitors (just a normal appt for me.....2X a week). Eli was very reactive. They took my blood pressure again and it had gone down quite bit, thank God. I was a little swollen though. My doctor then checked me for dilation and I am at a 3; that's a big change compared to being a finger tip dilated this last Monday! My doctor wants you to be at a 4 for an epidural. We then scheduled my inducement for Monday morning (I will be 39w 2d)since my pressure had gone down and I didn't have my headache anymore. I am on STRICT bedrest until then though. I can't even throw a load of laundry in the washer. Do you know how hard that is going to be for me??? I hate having people do my regular chores for me. I have a certain way for them....all well, I need to get over it. Anyways, I am praying I will walk into L&D on Monday morning (at 6AM!!!!!) dilated at 4 so I can get the epidural and just relax my way into pushing :) Hopeful thinking, but it could be reality!!
I will try to keep this blog updated as much as possible between now and then!
I can't wait to meet my little man....who knows if he will wait until Monday though :)

  1. I know bed rest is no fun at all but live it up while you can girl! Three is going to be a handful so you might want to savor being a bum because you're going to be exhausted VERY soon! lol Glad you're okay and can't wait to see some pictures Monday.... or earlier. =)

Hmmm, wonder why she won't give you an epidural before 4. I had it at 2 or 3 with Parker (but that labor was a little crazy) and 8 with Camilla - yikes! =)
